Types K, L, M DWV and MED tube are all designated by ASTM standard sizes, with actual outside diameter always 1/8" larger than the standard size designation. Each type represents a different wall thickness. Type K tube is has thicker walls than type L, and type L walls are thicker than type M for any given diameter. All inside diameters depend on the tube size and wall thickness. Type ACR tube is designated by actual outside diameter.
